Our firm has been actively involved in real estate and business transactions throughout its history. Our real estate clients include banks and other financial institutions, mortgage bankers, equity participants, developers, contractors, design and other professionals. We assist property owners and prospective tenants in a wide range of ownership, leasing and management activities both residential and commercial, including commercial office, industrial, acquisitions, dispositions, management, brokerage, land use and zoning, development, construction and retail space. Our real estate practice also includes drafting or review of purchase and sales agreements, retail, industrial and office leases, supervising the real estate closing, drafting and review of promissory notes, loan agreements, mortgages, and guaranty agreements in acquisitions, dispositions, financings, entity formation, leasing, construction contracting, and work-outs and restructurings.

Our firm has also assisted several developer/manager and other smaller entities in the development of lease forms and leasing programs that allow their leasing agents, and their in-house staff, to respond to specific business issues with prepared contractual provisions that maintain the integrity of the lease documents.

We provide tax advice on real estate transactions, including tax-free exchanges under section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code. When necessary, we represent our clients in all areas of real estate litigation, including breaches of construction contracts, and disputes involving mechanic and materialman’s liens. We have represented owners, buyers, sellers, and lenders in real estate litigation throughout Texas.
